Simi grew up in a small town in Essex and never really considered a pursuit in acting. As a young child, she was very shy - evident in her infant school Nativity play where she was cast as Mary and could just about bring herself to whisper her lines. Her interest in acting arose in 2013 and having been a keen fan of film for sometime, the idea of acting had soon manifested deep inside her mind. It was a contrast to her self proclaimed indecisiveness where she had now found herself 100% sure of one possible path to follow.
I play Suhina, one of Prem's classmates. Although perceived to be more with the 'in' crowd, she truly stands along the margins. She's a big observer by nature watching the action unravel but she never really gets involved. I believe that's why she's drawn to Prem and she's intrigued that he's completely different to everyone around her. I was like that in secondary school for sure, my school really sucked in terms of diversity and I was always around people who I couldn't relate to at all... I never said as much as I wanted because I was scared of being ostracised and I think Suhina's like that. She has a really clear sense of her morals but will hesitate to speak out - perhaps that's down to her reserved personality, something incredibly familiar to me.
